About Us

Successful Contracting and Consulting (SCC) is a joint project of New Directions Business Re-Training Association and Human Resources Development Canada. SCC has successfully served clients in the Greater Vancouver Region for the past four years. Graduates of our program are successfully serving our community as consultants in a diversity of fields, such as: advertising, accounting, education, engineering, graphic art, hospitality, marketing, new media, small business development, web design/E-commerce and many more.

If you have a special skill, ability, talent that you feel can serve others and earn an income, consider the consulting and contracting field.

The Program

SCC offers an intensive 10-day interactive seminar/workshop addressing:

* Consulting as a business opportunity
* Personal and professional empowerment
* Marketing a consulting business
* Business plans
* Contracts
* Proposal writing and submission
* Contracting with the federal and provincial government
* Rates and billing
* Finances, accounting, and taxation

Eligibility

We have spaces available for people who meet the following criteria:

* You are legally able to work in Canada.
* You are unemployed at the time of application.
* You are a business professional.
* You are not currently enrolled in a similar program.
* You are presently self-employed as consultants, but need extra help to refine their consulting skills
* You are motivated to secure employment and you are committed to exploring business oppurtunites as successful self-employed consultants.
